gameboy900 World's First Handheld Cartridge Console Is Here!
2004.03.27 20:27 GMT :: gameboy900
Before Nintendo ruled the handheld field with the Game Boy and its successors, there was another handheld cartridge console. We are proud to include the Milton Bradley Microvision into our database, the world’s first handheld cartridge console. Released way back in 1979, it suffered from a severe lack of games (11 total over a period of 3 years) and poor screen resolution (16x16 pixels...that's it), but it's still the first. It was also released in Europe where it actually had 1 game that never saw the light of day in the US.
RevQuixo Submission Bug Squashed
2004.03.21 16:50 GMT :: RevQuixo
As some of you loyal submitters may remember, when submitting a partial update to a profile you were given credit, but when putting in a new game, contribution credit would not appear in the profile. Well thanks to some shuffling around of our system, that particular problem has now been solved. Likewise if you are to email us information, we can properly give you credit...as long as we know your profile of course.
mowgli GunValkyrie for Dreamcast
2004.03.16 06:02 GMT :: mowgli
Before GunValkyrie became the hard as hell, throwing-the-controller-accross-the-room-in-frustation, shooter for Xbox we know and love (loath?), it was a fairly fleshed out beta for the Dreamcast. Although it never saw the light of day on Sega's last console, thanks to our resident media snoop - Segadult (also responsible for the Shenmue for Saturn media grabs floating the web) - we have some screen shots and artwork as proof.

Check out the images on the forums here, and feel free to speculate on what might have been. Looks as though they intended it to have more story elements (note the secondary character in 2 of the shots).
mowgli Site Upgrades
2004.03.13 09:02 GMT :: mowgli
RevQuixo, gameboy900 and I just finished bashing out a series of changes to the site. Here is a list of the major updates.
  • Batch Lists - Members can now add a bunch of games to their owned or wanted lists at once. Just select a list of titles from the browse or search pages (using checkboxes), choose which list you'd like to add them to and submit! Should make it easier for those with big collections.
  • Game Tabs - The main game profile page has been upated with a tabbed layout. The most notable addition is the Members tab, which will tell you who owns or wants that game.
  • Removed Redundancies - We removed some introductory pages that just essentially put "another click" in front of where you wanted to be. Menu is slightly changed as well.
We're slowly but surely working through your suggestions and requests for the site. As always, we appreciate your feedback, so please tell us what you think on the forums.
